We Bake For Dogs

Why open a bakery just for dogs? Because we believe pets are part of the family, and should be fed like family. Our dogs deserve the best. Fresh Bakery offers baked goods just for them made with the highest quality ingredients that we use in our very own kitchens. Come by and take in the fresh smells and treat your dog to some healthy ingredients.

Our ingredients are sourced from partners who share our same commitment to quality. Every component of our carefully crafted recipes is chosen because it offers a healthy benefit to your dog. All the elements come together in our state-of-the-art kitchen where our bakers cook fresh treats daily.

We control every aspect of production from sourcing to baking, packaging, and distribution to our stores. If it doesn’t meet Hollywood Feed’s high quality standards it doesn’t leave our bakery.

Fresh Fruit

Fresh fruits are full of antioxidants. They also boast high fiber and a lot of vitamin C. Here's a bonus: Strawberries even contain an enzyme that can help whiten your dog's teeth. Over time, fresh fruits help with aging; they boost and strengthen the immune system, and help with weight management.

In the wild, wolves eat eggs straight from the nest. That’s because they’re an important source of nutrition. Eggs are a very digestible protein, making them great for dogs prone to stomach upset. They contain vitamin A, riboflavin, folate, vitamin B12, iron, selenium, and fatty acids that work to improve your dog’s skin and coat and build muscle. With the endless benefits of eggs, they were an obvious choice in our quest to find the very best ingredients at the Hollywood Feed Fresh Bakery.

Almond Flour

For the gluten intolerant dog, almond flour is the perfect gluten-free whole flour substitute for wheat flours. Almond flour isn’t just a substitute though. It’s a healthy, nutrient-packed ingredient that helps lower bad cholesterol, decrease risk of heart disease, improve digestion and can even work to prevent cancer.

Dogs metabolize chocolate much slower than humans. Because of this, dangerous levels of the toxic compound theobromine build up in a dog’s body making chocolate potentially fatal. Carob doesn’t contain theobromine and is a great chocolate substitute for dogs. There are many health benefits that go along with carob including reducing the risk of cancer, preventing and managing diabetes, and preventing cardiovascular diseases. Vitamin K, riboflavin, vitamin E, as well as many others help to boost immune function and improve digestion.

Brown Rice Flour

In our journey to find the best ingredients for all dogs, we found the gluten-free whole flour known as brown rice flour. This whole flour is rich many key nutrients that help your dog live a better, healthier life. Brown rice flour is rich in:

  • Selenium - reduces the risk for developing common illnesses including cancer, heart disease, and arthritis
  • Manganese - helps the body synthesize fats and benefits the nervous and reproductive systems
  • Naturally occurring oils - help normalize cholesterol levels
  • Antioxidants and Fiber - help stabilize blood sugar levels and are great for dogs with diabetes

Chia Seeds

Chia is the ancient Mayan word for strength. This probably came about from the powerful punch of nutrients that come in the small seed. High in fiber, chia seeds are a low glycemic food which means they don’t lead to a sudden surge of sugar in the blood, but provide more sustainable energy. The fiber also promotes a healthy digestive tract. Chia seeds are a source of complete protein and contain all nine essential amino acids. High levels of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus are good for bone health, and Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for skin and coat health. We could go on all day about the benefits of chia seeds, but we’ll leave you with a list of just a few more of the incredible nutrients packed inside these tiny little seeds: manganese, zinc, vitamin B3 (niacin), potassium, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, and high antioxidant content.
