The Welfare Of Pets Is Important To Us

At Hollywood Feed, we are dedicated to improving the lives of pets wherever their shelter may be. We work with shelters, rescues, and volunteers who share our same passions. We support the shelter staff and volunteers who offer compassion and love while working diligently to provide care and rehabilitation to these homeless pets.

Pet overpopulation in the U.S. can be attributed to the pet parent’s failure to spay or neuter their pets, but that’s not the only reason shelters are full. Of the seven million animals living in shelters, one-third of them are surrendered by their owners. The top three reasons people leave their family pets at shelters are:

  • Behavioral issues
  • Cost of pet care vet bills
  • Not having enough time for pet

If these individuals had taken the time to research pet ownership before bringing an animal into their home, many of these issues could have been prevented.

At Hollywood Feed, our goal is to help animals and the humans who love them. This begins with providing shelter pets with guidance and training to become more adjusted to the world around them. We know many times the animals who end up in shelters are not adequately socialized, haven’t completed training courses, and don’t know what it’s like to be loved. The animals are scared and anxious. Many are sick and others have been abused. In the most effective shelters, homeless animals transition successfully into adoptable pets.
